Elan Failing

Since joining Compass in 2019, Elan has worked on a variety of projects related to collaborative watershed governance, endangered species planning, climate modelling in protected areas, water management and drinking water protection. She is a skilled researcher and communicator with an interest in navigating the intersection between pragmatic, solutions-oriented decision-making, and the broader imperatives of environmental justice and reconciliation. In her role at Compass, she looks forward to continuing to help diverse groups of people build collaborative relationships and reach consensus on tough environmental problems.

Elan holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Environment (Honours) from McGill University. She has also studied natural resource management and collaborative governance at the Haida Gwaii Institute.
