We’re always on the lookout for great people…
Are you interested in working at Compass? We are always on the lookout for talented people who have a penchant for good decision making and sound analysis, and who are interested in people and the group process. Ideal candidates will have been working in resource management for a few years and have picked up a graduate degree along the way. There’s no fixed list of prerequisites, but generally we’ve found that people who are a good fit will be able to put a check beside many of the following:
- work and/or school experience in resource and environmental management or equivalent area;
- great critical thinking and problem structuring skills;
- excellent writing and communication skills;
- an innate curiosity and desire to learn;
- an ability to provide impartial facilitation and analysis in support of decisions that involve
environmental, economic, and social trade-offs; - an ability to both see the big picture and dive into the details;
- an ability to be self-directed and take initiative;
- a passion for improving the quality of resource and environmental decision making; and,
- an interest in working on a mixed portfolio of projects – land and water management; fish, wildlife and species at risk; co-management and co-governance; climate risks and adaptation; public transportation; waste management, and more.
